BIOGRAPHY
I'm a singer/songwriter from Caerphilly, South Wales. Have been writing for years but only now getting round to recording anything. I listen almost entirely to old music of one form or another so am heavily influenced by it. Examples would include Neil Young, Little Feat, The Band, Kinks, Nilsson etc etc etc. Having said that I also listened to nothing but hip-hop till I was nineteen.. so in theory at least, anything's possible.

Make Do & Mend(2009)
This was my first stab at recording an entire album - and the first time I'd ever recorded live instruments. So it was always going to involve a fair bit of learning. I called the album Make Do & Mend initially because I knew that with my shoddy playing of guitar etc that there would be a lot of cutting and pasting and making half decent takes 'do the job'.
A cold wrecked my voice during the challenge so I was frustratingly forced to wait for it to get back to form, and when it did, the final track I had left to record vocals on, corrupted. So i had to make the 10th track a half finished something I had done at the start of the challenge. So yeah, lots of making do.
The songs range in style but I guess most have a country or blues thing to them. Ultimately though, I'd probably say its largely an acoustic pop album, of the old kind.
There's Lovely - The Alex Moody Scrapbook(2010)
This album is quite different to last year's. Less instrumentation, more tracks and all with a more stripped down acoustic feel. I called the album 'There's Lovely', as a summation of the half baked interest last years efforts received from my nearest and dearest. The scrapbook bit was added as a bit of a get out clause when it became clear some of the tracks would be left in as unfinished fragments. In all, the album's lyrics cover quite a lot of whats been going on in my mind, so its been nice to be able to document it/exorcise the demons. Thanks to Mike Brown and Gary Essex for lending their talents..

Third RPM year, third album. Thoroughly enjoyed it, hope you do too.
